Seaweed Inspiration

Seaweed, 10" x 8" x 1½" Birch plywood on panel

Drawing 12 Seaweed, 12" x 10" Graphite on paper
Seaweed  is my most recent panel. Using the layers of plywood to reveal contrasting tones has a great deal of potential for future projects. I am interested in pursuing the wood on wood approach in further development on new panels. Cut-outs work well with the organic shapes. I also have ideas how to use a small amount of paint for contrast in shapes that seem to be cut-out, but aren't, almost like fake cut-outs!

I have been very busy preparing for the next residency at AIB. This time I have packed all of my artwork in my suitcase and two mailing tubes. I hope it works out. I have two suitcases, one for art and one for my clothes and essentials. The documentation in triplicate always takes a few days to complete.
